Author and journalist. Brinkley's manuscripts and galley proofs (1948-88) for "Quicksand," "The Fun House," "Don't Go Near the Water," "Breakpoint," "The Last Ship," "The Two Susans," "The Ninety and Nine," "The Texas Peeper," "The Peeper," "Refuge," "All the Trumpets Sounded," "Washington Monument," "One More Invasion," and "The Admiral's Tennis Pro;" clippings, reviews, and business letters (1945-93) arranged by title of book. "Life" magazine (1950-57) materials, including text pieces, background notes, and picture stories; correspondence with publishers and agents and biographical information (1938-93); and a diary kept by Brinkley during World War II. Also in the collection are magazine articles (1952-63) from "Life" and "Holiday" and news clippings (1939-44) of articles written by Brinkley and published in the "Oklahoma City Times," "Daily Oklahoman," "Oklahoma Daily," and "Stars and Stripes," along with art work for "Breakpoint."
